historic stowe village is where most of our businesses are located. if you are running a business and create any sort of site or guide for it, we recommend including where it may be in town. for reference, here's a cute illustrated map of stowe where you can see parts of town, the street names, etc. it's a little blurry but we're making it work!

any business with a ⭐ cannot be changed in name or business-type but you're welcome to work there or even be the owner.

any business with a ✅ can be overridden entirely or will be deleted if a member makes a similar business and ours is no longer needed. we will remove the checkmark if someone claims ownership!
how do i join a business? if you'd like to join one that currently has an owner, reach out to their contact post! owners of businesses will be denoted in green. if there is no owner, or if you'd like to add a business, comment here.

what happens if the creator of a business leaves the gpsl? great question! to respect their work, we ask that if your character works there, you can either: take over the business by making some significant changes (name and photo at least), or continue working there but the owner will now be a random npc. we do not want to godmod any member current or past.

we know it can be difficult to lose lines so as always, if you're unsure how to proceed in this scenario, feel free to come to us and we'll help you out!

the spruce peak bed & breakfast

the see spot run memorial veterinary clinic
established in the 1997, spot clinic was named after its owner-and-founder's most beloved pet. thirty years later, it's a little known fact that the name of the clinic also references said owner's own contributions to the field of canine vision therapy.

the stowe family fun walk- and drive-in theatre
as its name suggests, the multiplex has one outdoor and three indoor screens, all of which are open year round. known for showing a mix of newish releases and whatever reels were the cheapest available, most locals avoid the night it gives in to "lovebite" tourism, in favor of the discount horror night happening one screen over.

level up
the arcade has been in operation since 1983, with many of its original machines still operating. it used to be the most happening place in stowe but even now it's a popular place for gamers of all ages to test their skills!

kim yoongi, kim jaewon

video stores may have gone out of fashion across america but the people of stowe hold tight to their traditions, and that includes friday nights at the four star video. with a collection of new and old rentals, there's sure to be something to pique your interest.

the vinyl vault
established in 1952, this treasure trove of vinyl went out of business in the early 90s when interest in records had all but gone extinct. the building sat empty as no one could imagine filling the spot, until eventually in 2008 a kind soul decided to reopen and restore the vinyl vault to its former glory.

hank's vacuum repair and delicatessen
hank's is your one-stop shop for the best sandwiches, sides, misc imported european snacks, and vacuum repair. sold after the death of its original owner, townies refused to patronize the renamed shop until it returned to being "hank's." since then, hank's has regained its local popularity. to celebrate, staffers all wear a "hello! my name is HANK" badge, and respond to the name "hank" while on duty.

points of interest

the stowe school
a private, expensive, mostly boarding k-12 academy about a twenty minute walk from the center of town. home not just to students, but also their teachers, admin, and related families.

ice rink
rebuilt in 1973 after a spate of suspicious fires, the town ice rink is home to the wildly popular public high school team, the stowe spruces. home games are heavily attended by both locals and visitors. while the indoor rink is open to public and private skating year round, the outdoor rink closes seasonally and with the neighboring town hall, becomes host to the twice-yearly agricultural fair and barn dance.

waterbury reservoir
just south of town is this scenic stretch of water! with designated spots for swimming and fishing, this beautiful body of water becomes a mecca for teens and families in the summer. the town's only ice cream truck is known for setting up shop at the main beach here from june through august.

smuggler's notch state park
we didn't even have to make this one up, vermont came up with this name all on its own! a verdant forest with beautiful hiking and biking trails, this state park is on the north side of mount mansfield, just outside town limits.

the stowe stenographer
the town's long-running newspaper was originally founded in 1843, closed in 1895, reopened in 1901, and then closed again in 1926. a group of ambitious local graduates bought out the then-owners in 2005, and the paper has been in distribution ever since.

the stowe free library
what once used to be the only schoolhouse in stowe is now the beloved library! once new schools had been built to replace it, the citizens of stowe worked together to find a new purpose for the building and agreed on a much needed library. it is also home to the town's arts center.

town hall & theatre guild
aside from the diner, stowe's town hall is the hub of small town life. the recreation, public works, and assessor's departments, and the town clerk, are all located in downstairs offices underneath the main floor. upstairs, the large meeting hall is mainly used by the historical society and the town's theatre guild, whose recent production of hamlet was described as "something to see!" and "a weird choice" by vermont newspapers.

little river farm & stable
while it was originally just a farm, then a farm and private barn for stowe school students to keep stable horses, little river riding stable has become a dedicated school for horse afficiados. to outsiders, the business is best known for supplying horses for the famous trail riding scenes in "lunar bond." to locals, the owners are beloved for taking in older horses who would otherwise go to that great horsey heaven in the sky.

st. michael's episcopal church of lamoille county
once known for its lengthy sermons and community announcements, this small church is now a must-see location for lovebite enthusiasts. exterior shots of the church were used in each movie, and the climactic wedding scene was even filmed inside. when jaime stepped over the threshold, did he burst into flames? visit the church and find out!

moss glen falls
just a five minute drive and a short hike from the center of historic stowe village, this waterfall is one of nature's treasures. it's also where hunter savage proclaimed his love for lily lee, and revealed his werewolf heritage in the now classic film, "lunar bond." we can't promise that that will happen to you, but it's still a refreshing and beautiful hike in almost any season!

19 pond street
but where, you must be asking, did lily lee live? this modernized farmhouse was used for all exterior shots of the lee family home. the home owners' 1987 amc eagle wagon was seen in so many shots that it became lily lee's own car by the second movie. while the interior scenes were all shot on a sound stage, the red paint and white trim of the farmhouse and its still-operational barn remain as worn as they were in the very first film.

the local radio station
welcome to WHEE 890 AM, your local station for all the news, sports, and talking that you can stand. do we let the interns run wild at night and not check any of their content? yes, but it's not like anyone's recording... right? anyways, back to the emergency broadcasts.

eateries

bluebird cafe
a sweet little spot for the best coffee and pastries in town. owned by longtime locals who immigrated from kyoto in the 60s, this cafe offers traditional cafe items as well as a changing menu of homemade japanese desserts. their daughter recently agreed to take over the business as her parents are retiring, ensuring that your favorite coffee will be available for many years to come!

imugi brewery
this local business recently medaled at the great american beer awards, bringing home a bronze in best experimental (for its filtered rice beer, "rice, rice, baby") and a silver in best honey ("honey, honey," a summer seasonal). originally known for their classic, german-style lager, "stowe it away," the brewery has hinted that it may release a seasonal version come winter. insiders claim that it will be a maple-tinged stout, in honor of the brewery's vermont heritage.

the classic diner
aptly named, the classic diner is the 24 hour eatery that can do it all -- especially breakfast faves. they're best known for their eggs benedict, french toast, and in the past few years have added extravagant milkshakes to the menu. during the school year, you can catch lots of students here studying after class and through the summer, lots of lovebite tourists want to sit in the exact booth where the lead couple shared their first kiss.

stowe's seafood
the name isn't creative but the food will leave you inspired! after over 20 years of business, nobody knows who the owner is but no one really cares when they're enjoying lobster rolls and fresh caught fish cooked to perfection. don't let the lack of adequate seating and weather-worn paneling stop you -- you've never had seafood quite as good as this!

the olive garden
the olive garden describes itself as a "lively, family-friendly chain featuring italian standards such as pastas & salads," but here in stowe we see the darkness lurking behind the humble façade. italian? not very. food? technically. family-friendly? sporadically. lively? only if you don't count the death of another restaurant at its hands. YOU KNOW WHAT YOU DID, OLIVE GARDEN.

frank's steakhouse and bicycle repair shop
the fancier relative of hank's vacuum repair and deli, frank's is owned and run by none other thank frank harmon, hank's actual brother. the shop is known for its excellent bicycle repair, exquisite customer service, very okay mashed potatoes, and excellent steaks. little is known about the harmon brothers, but they're town legends nonetheless. any business they own or operate is sure to be delicious, and a success.

taco house🔗
your only choice for mexican food in lamoille county. it's hard to say what's more compelling: eating taco house tacos, or not eating them. are you a fan of taco tuesdays? they might just change your mind. taco house sure has the okayest tacos available for miles around, and absolutely zero competition!

cliff house restaurant
perched near the top of mt. mansfield, cliff house restaurant is a beacon of fine dining. only reachable by gondola and open from 11am-2:30pm (every day of the week!), the restaurant has stunning views of the mountain and valley below. if you love to look at trees, this is the spot for you! tempting seasonal and farm-to-table entrees are accompanied by complicated cocktails, and a selection of wines so old that they almost predate the town itself. enjoy the outdoor seating, rustic vermont flair, and complete lack of michelin stars today!
